Media Release - State Awards mark another milestone for the ATA in QLD

ATA announces the state winners of the 16th Annual ATA State Awards in Queensland.

20th JULY – 2010 marks the 21st birthday year for the ATA, Australia’s premier contact centre industry association. Celebrating at the annual ATA QLD State Awards night, not only were the best and brightest Contact Centre professionals and organizations recognized and rewarded, but the entire industry celebrated a true coming of age in terms of professionalism, innovation and excellence.

This year the awards were more hotly contested than ever before in all individual and centre categories. This year’s stand out candidates have been analysed on a variety of criteria by the judges. The judging process involves a comprehensive scoring system based on responses to a questionnaire, as well as interviews and site visits
2010 judges, John Connolly and Tracey Madgwick were impressed by the callibre, passion and excellence of the organisations and the people.

“Selecting standout winners in QLD was very difficult. Every centre we visited would be considered a high performing centre,” said principal judge, John Connolly.

“It was fantastic to visit new centres this year and equally rewarding to re-visit the centres that had entered again in 2010. The level of progress these centres had made in a mere 12 months was nothing short of phenomenal! This is a true testament to the fast paced contact centre industry,” said John.

With so many high quality candidates and contact centre industries in the running for the awards, CEO of the ATA, Michael Meredith, believes this is testament to the growing strength and quality of the contact centre industry in Queensland, particularly in today’s economic climate.

“I am noticing a trend in Australian contact centre’s for year on year improvement across the board, not only in overall quality but also in practices, technologies and professionalism,” said Mr. Meredith. “Maturing into our 21st year, I am proud to see how the Australian contact centre industry has become an essential part of business, a truly professional endeavor and a shining example to international markets.”
