TEAM LEADER OF THE YEAR
KERRI MCGEOWN - RAC WA
"Winning the state award for Western Australia was an overwhelming experience, so to be voted the best in Australia was very surreal and something I still find hard to believe. I have never been so proud and it is a both a great personal and professional achievement.
Although this was an individual award, I could not have won without the support and mentoring of my Manager, Felicity Reynolds, who nominated me. She is a constant source of inspiration. I am also very fortunate to work for a company (RACWA) who is committed to encouraging and supporting its leaders to be the best that they can be. I am passionate about my role as a Team Leader and am motivated and driven by the fact that I, in turn, help my team members to be the best that they can be and I am grateful to them for trusting and believing in me. I am also very lucky to be a member of a very strong team of Team Leaders who form an integral support structure for each other. It is very encouraging and motivating for me knowing that the way I operate and lead my team has been recognised by the industry and it makes me even more determined to succeed in the future.
I would like to thank the ATA for their commitment to the Call Centre Industry and in particular the award and recognition program that they run, culminating in the National Awards ceremony. It truly is a great honour to be recognised at this level and has been the highlight of my career to date."

CONTACT CENTRE MANAGER OF THE YEAR
DARRYL FLETCHER - HERITAGE BUILDING SOCIETY
"Industry recognition is very humbling and particularly satisfying. It is just fantastic to celebrate achievements with your team mates and peers. The atmosphere and professionalism of the awards is outstanding and something everyone should try to experience.
These awards are about individuals, teams and centres that have decided not to sit and complain about their lot, but channel their energy into creating value and designing their own future, and in doing so, create fantastic environments and cultures that develop, satisfy and reward. This is an exciting, cutting edge, challenging industry - it is time to jump in boots and all...
I am still coming to terms with it all. It was just a sensational feeling being up on stage with HBS on the big screen and the audience cheering you on. "
TELEPROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR
JAMES ANDERSON - BT FINANCIAL
"Winning the ATA national award has been the best experience of my working life. BT takes the Awards and its nominations very seriously, so it was an honour to be the first person from BT to win at the national level. It is particularly satisfying to reward the faith my manager, who nominated me, and the whole leadership team has placed in me during the last year.
The process itself was personally rewarding and one that I would recommend to anyone who gets the opportunity to pursue whole heartedly. The interview process allows you to gain a deeper personal insight on your achievements, your goals and areas in which you can improve. Winning the award, and going through the awards process will certainly be instrumental in achieving my career goals within BT.
Ultimately, being nominated and winning this award means receiving the highest recognition from my employer and the highest recognition from the industry. You can't ask for more from the experience, personally or professionally, I can tell you that the ongoing support and encouragement I received from everyone at BT before and after the awards made all the hard work worthwhile."
CHAMPION OF THE YEAR
LYNDON WADDELL - GE MONEY
"Being nominated for the ATA was fantastic recognition from the Leaders within the business and to win the state award was amazing, but to then win the National Award really put what I had achieved into perspective. I also learnt that it pays to be prepared and maybe next time I'll have a speech organised.
The awards night themselves are a great night out and its a valuable experience to be able to interact with people from other organisations and businesses.
The experience of putting together a submission and documenting what it is that sets you aside from the others was an invaluable process and something that has assisted me in applying for my next role.
The exposure I have received from winning the award within my organisation has been invaluable and has definitely helped in my progression."
